Security Checks A security check involves a random check of a closed business during the nighttime hours to ensure the safety and security of the facility. This is accomplished by walking around the perimeter of the building, checking all windows and doors to make sure that they are shut and locked and otherwise looking for signs of entry or possible security issues. The Ponderay Police Department conducts random security checks on the roughly 200 businesses that are located within the City of Ponderay. No requests or other action are necessary from the businesses. This is a service that the Ponderay Police Department provides at no cost for our business owners.
